I went to pick it up as they told me they would have to set it up first before I took it home. I bought a new Honda walk behind quite expensive for a self powered wake behind. I am getting a new Kubota tractor soon, but my comment is slightly different, but relates. Ultimately it is up to you if you want to spend more money for peace of mind or you could use it and build that confidence with a little time. They have a problem and they are fixing it. Kubota is doing all they can and all that can be expected of them concerning this issue. There is no immunity to having problems at some point. I don't think it will in a way related to the repair.Īt the end of the day, all things are man made and mechanical. I would have confidence till it failed me. New tractor and it's had a pretty big repair. I'm not saying there isn't a new noise, but I bet it can be figured out and solved.Īgain, I get it. The part of the transmission they went into doesn't relate to the area the PTO operation is in.

There just isn't any correlation that I can think of. I cannot fathom any reason the tractor being split would make it ride rougher.

I would have total confidence in the tractor UNLESS it shows or starts showing signs that it doesn't. It's time consuming, but not all that hard. Splitting a tractor really isn't that big of a deal.

If your dealer has been in business long at all, he has split several tractors. I know it sucks to have such a low hour tractor have to be split, but you've mentioned several times your dealer is awesome. I suspect you were a victim of the HST bolt not being torqued at the factory.

If I'm stuck with it, will the fact that it's been cracked affect resale value? I'm I out of my mind? Go ahead and tell me, I can take it. I'll pay any extra the new machine is over my existing one. I have no complaints about my dealer, but I'm thinking about asking for a new machine. My confidence in the machine to last me the next 20-30 years is not there. I have a 19 hour "new" Kubota that's been cracked in half and feels like it's 10 years old to me. Here's where I need to know if I'm just whiny/emotional or if you think it's legitimate.I'm not happy with the machine. It doesn't ride as smoothly (could be my fault/my knowing it was cracked), there's some new strange sound with the shredder when I shred in reverse (probably something simple), and it's missing a linkage collar (small potatoes too). I shredded with it this afternoon, and it's just not the same. It had about 4 more hours on it and it was low on diesel, but I'll overlook that because they've been great. They cracked the tractor and replaced the transmission. They come get the tractor and promise to get it fixed. I visit with my dealer, and again they're awesome. The next day, I get a recall notice on the Kubota telling me it's dangerous/transmission related. I go back to shredding and everything works fine. They suspected something washed loose in the new transmission. They checked it out replaced transmission and hydraulic filters and fluid. My dealership is AWESOME.I called them and they came out the next day. Everything works great.no forward or backward. It works well for a while then the HST goes dead and I roll down a hill. I used it for a few hours over the winter (6-8) and it performed perfectly.
